The pages panel
To open the pages panel, where you can add/ delete pages or folders to your site, click on the button shown below.
By default, when a site is created, a page called Home page will be already in place. You can add many more pages, and also folders that will display as drop-down menus. To do so, click on the red icon.
Adding a page
- Under Type, select New page.
- Type your page title in the field
- Click on the yellow Done button
The new page will be automatically added to your navigation menu. You will also be taken to the new page so you can start adding content to it.
Page settings
Within the pages panel you will notice every page has an ellipsis icon (︙) on the right side. Click on it, and then choose Edit page settings.
The page settings include:
Title in navigation. It is the text that will be displayed in the navigation menu.
Title in browser. It will be displayed on the browser's tab when you visit the page on your live site.
Page URL. It will appear in the address bar following your domain name (i.e. /news)
Page status. Whether this page will be online or offline (unreachable)
Folder. Allows you to move the page inside a folder if you have one.
Keywords. Add specific keywords to this page for SEO purposes.
Description. It will appear on Google search results when this page is listed.
Hidden from navigation toggle. It hides the page from the navigation, but site visitors can still reach it if they have the link.
Use as home page toggle. This will change the page's URL to 'home'. It will become the first page shown to people going to your site.
Adding a folder
- Under Type, select New folder.
- Type the name of your folder.
- Click on the yellow Done button.
The new folder will be automatically added to your navigation menu in the shape of a drop-down. Every new folder contains a page called Index. We need folders to always contain at least a page, and we make sure of this by creating this undeletable page. You can now hide the page, or change its name.
Rearrange your pages
If you want to change the display order of your pages, simply drag and drop them to the correct place within the pages panel. The changes will be saved automatically.
